Eggshell Soul: Now or Later?

Seth McFarland said we looked like we were from the Sopranos

Charly had her premier last night for her first acting roll in Seth McFarland's new series on Peacock called Ted. We went to the premier and she was fantastic. Hollywood glam. The weeks leading up to this event have been rough personally for the girl,

...but she powered through. Even at the push to pause.

When is a right time to pause? Assess the trajectory of life.

What choice is reactionary to what remains seeping and oozing

in the shadows?

Make it new now, mend the fractures now,

so there is less course correction later.

Do the work on the navigation systems.

There is individual accountability to address the fragile shell

lest the next drop is that one that breaks the whole.

Or do it later.

There is a concept in law called the Eggshell Skull Syndrome. Basically you take the Plaintiff as they are, so if they were hurt by the Defendant more than they should have been because they had a fragile/eggshell skull/soul then you are held liable for all the damages that ensued. If you take a woman who has been dropped enough times that her soul is considered an "eggshell" thickness, then the defendant is liable for all the damages resulting from the result of the negligent action. If you choose to love an eggshell soul and lose grip on your care and embrace, by association you will be somewhat liable for the whole mess of her coming undone.

bedroom of grief, bathroom of apathy.

and sometimes, the men - they come with

The boys made their debut back in public school. The homeschooling journey lasted a semester. It was lovely. Ezra chatted with me in the middle of December. He was having concerns about spending all day with just me and Everett the majority of the days; the homeschool kids in Henderson were not his people. He explained how he was "devastated" when he left public school. Taking into consideration that Andrew and I both felt the same thing prior to Ezra articulating such, we decided to enroll the littles back in school. Ezra wanted to go back the week before Christmas so he could hit all the festivities. They are loving it. Exposure to different life modalities has been my goal since before I had Charly. I would love for that to include international living at some point as well, but for now they feel as if public school is a new land they are excited to adventure on for a bit.
